My grandmother, an avid tea drinker, has lost dexterity in her hands over time and constantly struggles with her teacup. I noticed online there were limited options for accessible cups, especially for tea and other hot drinks.

A teacup specifically made with the elderly and disabled in mind.

Prototype Sketches
I started with a simple prototype (bottom left). Then I observed any problems, and utilized them to make the drastic improvement to prototype #2 (middle right). After Prototype #2, I did some fine tuning on dimensions and began looking into the colour scheme for the final prototype.
Aesthetics

For the colours of the T.E.A. cup, I wanted to make sure it was contrasting but still appeared soft and welcoming.
I wanted to focus on softer colours, that felt comforting to the user, without being overwhelming.
Final Design
A T.E.A. cup is designed for the elderly. It has a weighted base for stability, a large ergonomic rubber handle for grip, and contrasting colours to help the user easily guide it.
